I'm not ready to do this but I came across a recipe I do want to try when I'm ready but it calls for yeast. Is there a rule for using mother instead of yeast?

Lord put your arms around my shoulders and your hand over my mouth.

Hi Sara, I wish there was a straightforward conversion formula, but there just isn't. It really depends on the specifics of the recipe you're trying to convert. It's a trial and error kind of process. As a recent example, for the cinnamon roll recipe that we just posted, the process took 5 weeks to arrive at a final version. This is a little different, as we were developing a new recipe, but I did start out by using the brioche recipe from Wild Bread as a base, and then continued to modify the recipe until it was just right.
