Good morning to all! Looks like it’s going to be another beautiful day here. Adria has been itching to make a cake all week, so we are going to do that a little later this morning. I’m not sure if she’s decided on the type just yet. At first she wanted to make angel food cake, but yesterday she was talking about making a nectarine cake. We will see!

Brian and I have been working on building a shed that will be half turkey house and half garden shed. We will do a little more of that later this afternoon and might even get to lift some walls! .

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Turkeys! Yeah!
I have been working on a Basque Sheepherders bread. Being out with their sheep for months at a time, they had a sourdough culture and baked their bread in a cast iron pot buried in ground with coals doing the cooking. Bread has some rye flour, olive oil, a little honey. Made the yeast version a lot. Love how this turned out. We are due to have a streak of 90º weather. Probably won't be doing some baking.....
Hope you have a delicious cake today.

Bread is like the sun. It rises in the yeast and sets in the waist. Unknown author

Your bread sounds delicious. I love bread with rye flour in it. The warm weather definitely does give one pause before turning on the oven. It’s been warm here, but cools off as soon as the sun is low on the horizon.

Adria decided to make an angel food cake and it was tasty! She was most excited about decorating it, I think, and she did a great job!

And of course Alina had to sneak into the frame to make a funny face.

The cake looks delicious. Don't you just love goofy kids? My grandsons are very goofy. Such joy they add to one's day!
